Amy and Callan's love, laughter & happy ever after

July 12, 2018

♥ How did you first meet?

Callan and I met initially through high school, he was the bad influence and we ended up close friends. However i did play soccer with Callans brother but don't remember him, Callan will tell you he remembers me from stealing his lollies. Anyways a few years later we had mutual friends in high school and became close friends but not before both of us going our own ways and a few years later the friendship begun again. My maid of honour from the night used to always tell us that we would marry each other one day - I'm talking when i was in yr 9 - little did we know then that should would be right.

♥ How did you find planning the wedding?

We booked the date 2 years in advance so it wasn't too rushed, we had plenty of time. Twelve months out approached really quickly and I stupidly agreed to study full time while working and a mum of 2 kids in the last 12 months.. it tested my limits but I made use of my friends and bridal party at times of need who were a great help. Following The Brides Tree and being in their Facebook group was a huge help - everyone shared their personal advice and experience - having very little friends who were married and very few weddings we have attended this made things that little bit easier

♥ What was most important to you for your special day?

To have fun, relax and enjoy ourselves - which we did!

♥ What did you love about Pelican Waters Golf Club?

Not just the serenity (the greens of a golf course was the pick of vendors) but the service - there is not one moment that I could fault with Michelle,  Jodie or the team throughout the whole process. Michelle was easy to work with and assisted with any questions and provided guidance where needed from start to finish.

Jodie on the day/night of the wedding was sensational - nothing was too hard, she kept us together especially when Callan lost his speech, she had his back (I'm sure she would have probably got up and made a speech on his behalf haha) and we all had a good laugh and ball with her. The bar staff and the other staff behind the scene put on an amazing night also and were very pleasant to deal with and always had a smile on their face and checked in to make sure your night was going well. It was a "nothing is too much trouble" atmosphere from all team members.

♥ Where did you honeymoon?

Tell me about that... We didn't! With 2 young kids and 2 weeks of family who travelled here to spend the time with us we decided to make the most of our break to spend with them between Noosa and Byron Bay - its a rare occasion to have them all here at the one time and we made the most of it. When the kids are a little older and a little more independent we will endeavour to leave them with the Grandparents and venture out on our retreat then.
